Current Era
This radio station is part of a network of two Australian commercial radio stations. They play easy-listening music and have as less talk as possible. The network consists of two radio stations – Smooth 95.3 Sydney and Smooth 91.5 Melbourne. Smooth 95.3 started broadcasting in 2005 as Vega 95.3 so it’s pretty new radio station. In 2010 Vega was rebranded as traditional Rock, which is 2011 was renamed into 95.3FM. And this radio station was in its turn rebranded into Smooth 95.3 in 2012. So there was a long way before these radio stations establish its arrangement.
First air date: 1 August 2005 (as Vega 95.3)

In the first radio survey of 2007, Vega 95.3 had small increases, reaching 3%. In August 2015, smoothfm 95.3 was crowned the number 1 FM station for the first time with an 8.2 share.
